sometimes i pretend not to remember details about people because having a good memory apparently equates to creepiness
this sums up my entire life. I literally remember everything about people and if I say too much they look at me like I stalk them. Uhm no I’m just observant.
The only reason I didn’t shoot myself during humanities and art history classes was because of gothic architecture
Can’t wait to buy this tomorrow and try it, I’m hoping it tastes like the homemade stuff I had in Utah!
Something that really pisses me off is when anyone, not just minorities, but anyone, claims they have been “disadvantaged”. No you haven’t. 99% of the time there are equal opportunities that are not dependent on race or social status. The reason certain social groups seem to be disadvantaged is because the people put into those categories use it as an excuse to think they deserve more rather than working just as hard as everyone else. Everyone has the opportunity for an education no matter how poor you are. I went to a public high school and instead of not taking advantage of my opportunities I decided to go into early college which let me have 2 years of college for FREE. Anyone can afford that. Also, after high school because of my hard work I am going to college for FREE and if my family made less money I could get grants to pay for the other misc. costs. So no I don’t think that anyone is disadvantaged and I don’t think it’s fair to say that african americans or latinos or who ever are under-represented in the professional workforce. It’s not my fault you didn’t get your high school diploma or go to college. It’s not my fault that you let yourself become a statistic. Statistics don’t lie and the fact is less african americans and latinos have a higher education degree and this is because they’re not up to par with every one else to get into college but if they were there are ways they could afford it. I don’t think it’s right for the US to implement affirmative action programs that allocate spots for minorities in their admissions. Each application should be reviewed without race even being put on there so that the most qualified candidates received admission, not those we feel are somehow disadvantaged because they chose to be lazy and we feel bad for them. Affirmative actions is stupid. It is meant to redress wrong doings to minorities during times such as slavery, however, todays african americans were not enslaved and by now probably not even their parents or grandparents were either. Affirmative actions programs are meant for those directly affected by these wrong doings not the second generation because they haven’t been directly disadvantaged and they can’t use it as an excuse anymore. Slavery was terrible, I get that. It wasn’t me or anyone alive today that enslaved your ancestors and back then mindsets were different. I had absolutely no part in it and neither did any other current taxpayer so why are we being punished and having to pay into affirmative action programs to give you more opportunities than, yes I’ll say it, whites. The constitution says there should be equal opportunity, but now the sea-saw has been forced up so high on the other side that it is now more in favor of minorities just to make up for how low it used to be. You can’t change what happened but you can save money by not giving into everyones that claim that they’ve been disadvantaged. Hell if I was a minority, as lazy as I am, I would claim I was disadvantaged too and get a free ride in life, but that helps no one. I’m glad I’ve had to work for what I have because it feels good.
God I really want to be a politician. Okay, rant over. I should be getting ready for my AA degree graduation ceremony anyways.
I am making this over summer, except the heart will be over Tuscaloosa and in crimson and white not those barner cow college colors.
Just 4 more months. Alabama football is one of the few things I love in this world.
